Are you keen to get involved in the emerging arts scene by volunteering time, energy and headspace to developing Firstdraft’s 2012 and 2013 program?
Applications are currently being sought for new directors to join a dedicated and enthusiastic team of emerging artists and curators to run Sydney’s longest running ARI.
About Firstdraft
Firstdraft is a national Artist-Run-Initiative (ARI) hub that supports the development of emerging and experimental artistic practice through diverse and innovative programs. Firstdraft champions emerging and experimental arts by supporting innovative artists, curators and writers through four interconnected areas; exhibition, creative and professional development, community engagement and advocacy.
Directors are appointed to the board of Firstdraft on a voluntary term of two years directorship. The board consists of generally around eight directors, each of whom dedicate their time to roles including:
- Programming upcoming 2012/2013 exhibitions
- Creative input to the programming and special projects for the space
- Installation and de-installation of exhibitions
- Liaising with artists
- Media and Publicity
- Administration and Finances
- Website management
- Gallery maintenance
- Day to day correspondence
- Opening night
- Developing Firstdraft Depot & Studio programs
The next few years will mark an important phase for Firstdraft, which includes developing our studio program at the Depot Woolloomooloo. It is an exciting, rewarding – and also demanding – time to be involved in Firstdraft!
Please email your application (including a 1 page (MAX) cover letter and a 1 page (MAX) curriculum vitae and short biography) to directorscallout[at]firstdraftgallery.com by Friday, 25th November 2011.
