Information for Exhibition Applicants
Applications close 6pm Friday, 12 August 2011
Exhibition proposals are invited from individuals and groups, artists and curators.
Firstdraft offers artist fees delivered in the form of financial subsidy for the hiring of the gallery spaces. After the subsidy, the gallery costs for the 3-week show period are as follows:
Gallery 1: $600
Gallery 2: $600
Gallery 3: $700
Gallery 4: $700
* Gallery 1 and 2 can be used together for a cost of $1,200
Firstdraft does not charge a commission for works sold during the exhibition period.
Gallery costs will include:
• 3 weeks exhibition period per show
• Publicity and promotion including colour invitation design, printing and mailout, email media releases, Facebook promotions and mailout.
• Standard gallery running costs (special overhead costs may apply).
• Opening night costs and manning of the bar (from 6pm – 8pm on the first Wednesday of the show period) .
• Gallery minding by Firstdraft volunteers – exhibitors are responsible for minding the gallery in the event that volunteers are unavailable during opening hours (Wednesdays to Sundays 12 – 6 pm).
